Disposition notice

On October 22, 2026, U.S. District Judge Andrew G. Schopler of the Southern District of California granted plaintiff John Doe's unopposed motion to seal (ECF 122) in Doe v. County of San Diego, et al., No. 3:23-cv-00251-AGS-GC. The court found that Doe articulated compelling reasons for the requested sealings and redactions, supported by specific facts, that outweigh the general history of access and public policies favoring disclosure, citing Kamakana v. City & County of Honolulu, 447 F.3d 1172, 1178–79 (9th Cir. 2006). The court adopted the factual statements in the motion and granted the request for all reasons stated there. Until further court order, the Clerk must maintain under seal the unredacted versions of written Exhibits 1, 2, and 11, currently docketed under seal at ECF 108, and Exhibits 6, 7, and 8, the body-worn-camera recordings. The order does not resolve the underlying claims against the County of San Diego and the other defendants.
