Disposition notice
On November 3, 2026, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California dismissed Dena Peterson's action against Daljit Kaur and other defendants without costs and without prejudice after counsel advised the court that the action had settled. The order permits the action to be reopened upon good cause shown within 30 days if the settlement is not consummated. It states that the court retains full jurisdiction and that the order does not prejudice any party. Failure to reopen or seek an extension by the deadline will be deemed consent to dismissal without prejudice. The order cites Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 41(b) and Link v. Wabash Railroad Co., 370 U.S. 626 (1962).
