Disposition notice

On October 12, 2026, the Second District Court of Appeal, Division Five, affirmed the Los Angeles County Superior Court judgment against Tayshaun McKoy in B352235. McKoy had pleaded no contest to assault with a firearm, admitted personally using a firearm and an aggravating factor involving a threat of great bodily injury, and received a four-year prison sentence. Appointed counsel filed an opening brief requesting independent review under People v. Wende. The court gave McKoy 30 days to submit additional contentions and received no response. Because he had not requested a certificate of probable cause, the court limited its review to matters that did not affect the validity of the plea or otherwise require that certificate. It found no arguable issues, concluded that counsel had fulfilled her Wende responsibilities, and affirmed the judgment.
