Disposition notice
The Fourth District Court of Appeal, Division One, affirmed a juvenile disposition order entered under Welfare and Institutions Code section 602. Multiple petitions were filed in the juvenile court involving allegations of robbery, burglary and assault. The minor admitted three separate robberies, resisting, and three separate burglaries, and in October 2025 admitted robbery and probation violations. The juvenile court committed the minor to the Healing Opportunities for Personal Empowerment (HOPE) program for a period not to exceed 480 days, with a maximum confinement period of 7 years 8 months. Appointed appellate counsel filed a brief under People v. Wende (1979) 25 Cal.3d 436, indicating counsel had not been able to identify any arguable issues for reversal on appeal. To assist the court in its review and in compliance with Anders v. California (1967) 386 U.S. 738, counsel identified two possible issues: whether the minor's commitment was correctly calculated, and whether the court erred in committing the minor to the HOPE program. The court advised the minor that he could file his own brief on appeal, but the minor did not respond by filing a supplemental brief. The court independently reviewed the record as required by Wende and Anders, found no arguable issues for reversal, and affirmed the disposition order.
