Disposition notice

On October 30, 2026, Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California issued an in-chambers order to show cause in Mary Margrill v. Rocksbox, Inc. et al, No. CV 26-01301-SPG(MAAx). The court noted that on July 16, 2026, the plaintiff obtained entry of default against Defendant Inspire Me Bracelets LLC under Fed. R. Civ. P. 55(a), but has not since sought default judgment under Rule 55(b). Citing Link v. Wabash R. Co., 370 U.S. 626, 633 (1962), the court ordered the plaintiff to show cause in writing by November 12, 2026, why the case should not be dismissed for lack of prosecution, either by seeking default judgment or by notifying the court that default judgment will not be sought, in which case the clerk will close the matter. Failure to respond will be deemed consent to dismissal of the complaint.
